The Victory is Ours

The election of 2016 will be recognized as a unique event in our history, for several reasons.

It will be recognized as an election where no political party was able to present a truly viable candidate. We had the option of choosing between a Democratic narcissistic congenital liar, a Republican narcissistic business tycoon with an itchy Twitter finger, an under-informed Libertarian pot smoker, and a gorilla-loving eco-fascist.

It will be recognized as an election where all of the talking heads in the media did not have the slightest clue as to what was happening in America. All of the polling was completely wrong, all of the media attacks were completely ineffective, and all of the pontification about various "phobias" did not scare those voters who actually cared about the outcome.

It will be recognized as an election where the "millennials" weren't passionate enough about their beliefs to bother to vote, but were passionate enough about their beliefs to take to the streets and protest the results. This generation (known as "snowflakes" and "cupcakes") was so traumatized that they had to hide in their "safe spaces", and universities had to cancel exams and classes because this was just too traumatizing to deal with.

It will be recognized as an election where We the People stood up to the Washington establishment and said "ENOUGH!" Establishment candidates were repeatedly repudiated in the primaries and the general election, with the ultimate rejections being those of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

It will be recognized as an election where most of the candidates ignored the people that they claimed to represent, except for Donald Trump, who ignored the elitists and listened to the people that mattered. While Hillary had to provide free concerts to draw a crowd, Donald attracted 3,100 people at an impromptu rally held at 1:00 AM on the night before the election.

There are examples too numerous to mention as to why this was a unique election, but suffice it to say that it has ushered in a period where the unexpected is likely to become the norm.
